George chases deadly hurricanes in the USA: Gustav in Louisiana and Hanna in North Carolina. He then flies with USAF Hurricane Hunters into Ike over Cuba, meeting it again as it makes a wild destructive landfall in Galveston, Texas.

Waterfall-shrouded Kitum Cave has been carved out by elephants in search of salt on Mount Elgon at the Kenya-Uganda border. George gets bitten by one of the cave bats suspected of carrying the deadly Marburg virus.

Eco-disasters: Uzbekistan's Aral Sea, once one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, shrunk to 1/6 its previous size; a Crimea mountain carved into a submarine base; Chernobyl nuclear site reduced to a radioactive wasteland.

George explores the volcanoes of Costa Rica with an international team of scientists, rafts down white water rivers in full flood, rappels down raging waterfalls, and handles some of deadliest snakes this tropical country has to offer.

From "Fin Del Mundo" George sails on a Russian icebreaker to Antarctica. After braving stormy Drake passage, he explores volcanic Deception Island, camps in Antarctic snow and paddles a kayak through icebergs calved off melting glaciers.

George links up with two experienced polar adventurers to explore frigid Canadian Arctic winter. The team uses skis to cross the fractured sea ice of Frobisher Bay, then dog teams to head North through the spectacular Auyuittuq Mountains.

In New Zealand George learns that an undersea volcano 1000 miles North in Tonga is creating a new island. After nautical mishaps, clad in nothing but underwear and a life jacket, George becomes one of the first explorers on this new land.

George and his team head into "bears' cage", looking to get beat up by the biggest, baddest hailstones in Texas and Oklahoma. Their storm chasing vehicles don't look too pretty after coming through these massive storms.

George experiences extremes of aviation and space training aboard Czech-built Albatross fighter jet, inside Zero-G plane, simulating zero gravity by diving 30,000 feet in giant parabolas and in spinning centrifuges producing 6 G's of force.

After submarine exploration of Grand Cayman Island, George dives with Canadian Armed Forces' experimental deep pressure unit. With explorers Chris Harvey-Clark and Phil Nuytten he investigates newly discovered "Black Smoker" deep sea vents.

In 2000 in Chihuahua, Mexico, miners found a cave filled with giant crystals. Temperatures reach 120 degrees F and humidity nearly 100%. George leads an Explorers Club Flag Expedition into this extreme environment.

Gas from Catatumbo swamps mixed with cold air from the Andes create a perpetual lightning storm on South America's largest lake. From here George canoes 84 km to world's highest waterfall, swims with piranhas and holds a huge Anaconda.

The Empty Quarter is a windswept area of sand dunes. In a tiny corner of this vast desert lies Dubai, a glitzy ultra-modern playground. George heads out from Abu Dhabi on a 4W safari to see both sides of this corner of Arabia.
