Dominador "Ador" De Leon enters the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), hoping to fulfill his dreams of becoming a policeman. His diligence and perseverance pay off as he graduates at the top of his class. Ador brims with idealism, not knowing that the enemy lurks not only in the form of criminals but also from jealous, newly-minted fellow police officers.

Ador marks a new phase in his life with his graduation, an event he happily shares with his loved ones. His relationship with Carmen also blooms, leading to the latter's pregnancy and their eventual marriage. Ador then hits the ground running as a policeman. Unfortunately, harsh realities on the ground challenge his idealism to the core.

Ador further shows his bravery by going after rogue cops and syndicate leaders. His crime-fighting prowess soon earns him a promotion and a slot at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). As Ador later savors the birth of his son and his new role as a father, Delfin gives him a major assignment that can once again put his life in peril.

Ador pretends to be a corrupt cop so that he can spy on the operations of a trafficking syndicate. However, the syndicate has already learned about Ador's spotless academic record and is wary of taking him in their confidence. Ador brushes off some close calls, including one that involved his son, until a confrontation with Joaquin and the syndicate leaders puts Ador's life in peril.

Delfin weeps in despair upon finding Ador's lifeless body in the syndicate's lair. Despite this, Delfin chooses to hide Ador's death and claim that the demised police officer is just doing an assignment somewhere confidential. Delfin then meets with the high-ranking officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to suggest that Ador's unfinished mission be given to Cardo, a member of the Special Action Force (SAF) who happens to be Ador's twin brother.

Cardo immediately proceeds to the church upon learning from Glen that the crown of the Virgin Mary statue has been stolen. Soon, Cardo gets a sight of the hostage-taker he encountered before, prompting him to follow the criminal with Glen. Cardo then displays his irrefutable bravery again as he faces the hostage-taker and his minions to retrieve the religious item. Meanwhile, Flora confronts Delfin and demands to know Ador's whereabouts.

Cardo receives an unexpected visit from Delfin, who informs him about Ador's unfortunate death. Delfin then speaks about how Ador successfully infiltrated a human trafficking syndicate and asks Cardo to pretend to be Ador in order to bring justice upon his death. After spending some time alone by the lake to look back on his childhood years with his twin brother, Cardo decides to accept Delfin's request and continue Ador's mission.

Before leaving his life in the countryside, Cardo bids farewell to Onyok. Soon, Cardo arrives at a highly classified headquarters of the PNP where Delfin has been waiting for him. After seeing the lifeless body of his twin brother, Cardo vows to seek revenge against those who killed Ador. The next day, Cardo meets Col. Olivia Buenaventura, who promises to help him in his clandestine mission.

Cardo recalls his adolescent years when he lived in the headquarters of the PNP after his adoptive parents died at the hands of rebels. Olivia then tells Cardo that he needs to forgive Flora in order to effectively mimic Ador. Cardo refuses to heed the colonel's order but soon changes his mind upon learning that he can save many innocent children from the biggest human trafficking syndicate in the country. Meanwhile, Joaquin stages a fake retrieval operation in order to gain the trust of Delfin and the other PNP officers.

Cardo continues his preparation for his assignment by studying Ador's profile, including the people around his twin brother. When Cardo refuses to look at his grandmother's video, Olivia reminds the police officer that he needs to forgive Flora or at least teach himself how to lie about it. Cardo then undergoes surgery which removes his scars and learns how to speak and walk like Ador. Soon, Cardo becomes ready to take on his mission as he goes out of the secret headquarters looking exactly like Ador.

Assuming the identity of his twin brother, Cardo takes Joaquin and the rest of the police officers by surprise. Cardo also meets Carmen, Junior, and Flora, who are more than delighted to be with who they believe is Ador. However, the wounds of Cardo's past reveal themselves as he recalls how Flora neglected him.

Cardo arrives at Ador's home and experiences the love his twin brother was getting from Flora, Carmen, and Junior. Soon, Flora worries about her family's safety upon learning that Ador's return has made it to the front page of a broadsheet. Meanwhile, Onyok plans to go to Manila and find Cardo.

Filled with utmost determination, Onyok pursues his plan to search for Cardo by sneaking inside a delivery truck bound for Manila. Meanwhile, Cardo finds himself in trouble again when Flora asks him to cook kare-kare.

Delfin reprimands Cardo for using extreme measures to save a suicidal man, reiterating that Ador would not do such a thing. Meanwhile, Lorenz Gabriel leads another kidnapping operation. Unfortunately, Onyok and his friends are among those who fall into the hands of the human trafficking syndicate.

After receiving information that Tuko, the person who tried to abduct Junior, is willing to testify against the human trafficking syndicate, Cardo volunteers to safely escort the suspect to Camp Crame. Joaquin also offers to help out in the operation, but, unbeknownst to Cardo, actually sabotages their assignment.

Cardo and his fellow policemen successfully infiltrate the syndicate's lair, where he runs into Onyok. Soon, Cardo manages to extract information from one of the abductors, moving one step closer to ending the syndicate's schemes. However, Delfin overhears Chikoy and Vargas talking about the changes in Ador's behavior, putting Cardo's mission in grave danger.

Delfin arrives at the children's shelter to stop Cardo from speaking with Onyok. This, however, gives Onyok an opportunity to sneak into Delfin's car and reach Cardo's new home. The next morning, Cardo finds Onyok inside the house. Despite denying at first, Cardo has no other choice but to reveal his identity, bringing so much joy to Onyok.

Left with no other option, Cardo asks Benny to take care of Onyok and not to tell Ador's family about the little boy. Soon, Cardo makes Carmen, Junior, and Flora happy as they spend a fun day at the carnival. Carmen, however, still feels that there is something wrong about her husband.

Cardo does his best in making up with Ador's family after learning from Flora and Billy that Carmen is suspecting him of having a mistress. Meanwhile, Glen moves to Manila with her family. During her first day as a police officer at the country's capital, Glen reports at the scene of a bank robbery, where Cardo arrives shortly.

After witnessing her best friend saving the people inside the bank, Glen approaches Cardo, who, much to her surprise, denies his identity. Despite this, Glen still manages to get Cardo's contact details after searching for Ador's file in the database of the PNP. Meanwhile, Carmen grows more dubious of her husband upon discovering several suspicious text messages on his phone.

Still bothered by the text messages on Ador's phone, Carmen goes to the car wash where Benny is working to find out if her husband is fooling around. There, Carmen chances upon Glen, strengthening her suspicion against her husband. Meanwhile, Tomas plans on using a scapegoat to divert the police's attention.

Still sensing that there is something leery about her husband, Carmen looks through Ador's stuff and finds a toy badge and a necklace belonging to Cardo. Glen manages to convince her family to take care of Onyok. Meanwhile, Cardo and Delfin once again put the member of the human trafficking syndicate under interrogation, hoping to finally discover the people behind the group.

Cardo and his colleagues manage to bust Wilson Yu, who, because of Joaquin's threat, takes responsibility for leading the human trafficking syndicate. Delfin, however, tells Cardo that they will still conduct further investigation on the case. Soon, the PNP recognizes Cardo and his fellow officers' efforts in bringing down the illegal group.

Believing that her husband is cheating on her, Carmen leaves Cardo and decides to go to her parents' home. Cardo then meets with Delfin and says that he wants to quit his assignment. Not long after, Flora, who is starting to feel leery toward her grandson, brings Cardo to a church and pushes through with Ador's annual tradition of praying for Cardo's safety and writing a devout message for his twin brother.

Heeding her parents' advice, Carmen faces Glen and tells her to stay away from Ador. Meanwhile, Flora confronts Delfin and later confirms that Cardo is the one living with her and not Ador. Soon, Cardo admits everything to Flora and tells her about the struggles he faced when she gave him up for adoption.

Flora struggles as she comes to grips with Cardo and Delfin's shocking confession about Ador. The incident soon paves the way for Flora and Cardo's reconciliation as Cardo finally finds it in his heart to forgive Flora. Meanwhile, Carmen returns home to celebrate Ador's birthday with their family. However, a phone call from Glen disrupts the celebration and furthers Carmen's suspicions against Ador.

The truth about Cardo's real identity is finally revealed to Carmen. Despite Delfin's and Cardo's repeated admissions about Ador's death, the disbelieving widow refuses to accept their claims until she personally sees her husband's remains. Meanwhile, Joaquin plots on using Carmen's current situation to know more about his foe's secret plans.

Cardo races against time to finish his mission as Carmen gives him an ultimatum to do so. Soon, Cardo finds unsolicited help from Onyok who fearlessly follows Diego in hopes of locating his hideout. Meanwhile, Joaquin sees red when Tomas cuts off his access to the company and its financial accounts.

Cardo attacks Diego and his men in an attempt to find out the identity of the syndicate leader. However, Diego diverts Cardo's attention by making it appear that he is Ador's murderer. This, in turn, ignites Cardo's desire to fulfill his promise of giving Ador the justice he deserves. Meanwhile, Joaquin continues his mission of discovering Ador's secret by trying to win Carmen's trust in her most vulnerable moment.

Cardo finally admits to Junior that he is not his father. Confronted with the shocking truth, the young boy goes out of the house, unaware that Diego and his group are waiting to strike at the cop. When Diego fires some shots at Junior, Cardo chases after Diego only to be trapped inside the latter's urban slum lair.

Diego falls to the hands of the authorities after engaging in an encounter with Cardo. Despite Diego's confession, Cardo remains unconvinced that Diego killed Ador. Soon, a serious confrontation ensues between Carmen and Cardo, leading the former to reveal Cardo's well-kept secret before her family, including Joaquin.

Emotions pour out as Ador's friends, family, and colleagues pay their last respects to the fallen officer. Meanwhile, Philip informs Tomas that he is set to fly to the Philippines to personally talk to him and clear things up about Edson and their organization.

In the aftermath of Ador's passing, Cardo attempts to help Flora recover from grief by bringing her to Botolan and introducing her to the town where he lived for years. Meanwhile, Carmen witnesses Junior's struggles in moving on from Ador's death, especially after she has severed her ties with Flora.

With Benny and Onyok's help, Cardo captures the thieves who have been stealing the townspeople's livestock in Botolan. Meanwhile, Tomas learns about Diego's demands in exchange for his silence. Undaunted, Tomas shows Diego that he remains in control by posing a threat to his children's lives and to his own safety.

Despite Delfin's orders not to dig up further information on Diego, Cardo remains adamant to confirm his doubts about the case, hoping to give Ador the justice he truly deserves. Soon, Cardo begins a new chapter in the police force as a senior police officer under Joaquin's command.

Carmen seeks Joaquin's help to ensure that Cardo will not bother her family again. Meanwhile, Cardo conducts his first mission with Joaquin and his team. However, instead of following his superior's orders, Cardo ends up taking matters into his own hands after noticing that the odds are not going in their favor.

Cardo single-handedly seizes the drug pushers and users during a buy-bust operation. While the others are impressed, Joaquin fumes as Cardo gets the credits for the operation's success. Meanwhile, Glen warns Cardo after finding out that the latter is still investigating on Diego.

Tomas' men stage a kidnapping incident while the police transfer Diego to another detention facility, and make it appear that Diego died in the explosion following the police and the kidnappers' exchange of fires. Cardo, previously informed that someone is planning to help Diego escape, stands unconvinced of the latter's death.

In the wake of Diego's alleged demise, Carmen sets her sights at having a fresh start, while an unconvinced Cardo keeps himself involved in the case despite Delfin's firm order not to take part in the investigation. Aware of Cardo's suspicion, Joaquin and his men brew a plot to manipulate the forensic report.

Joaquin continues to pull the strings in his favor by posing a threat to Dr. Morales, the forensic analyst, if she refuses to sign the papers confirming Diego's death. Skeptical of the results, Cardo tries to fish out information from Dr. Morales and later follows the man he saw coming out of the doctor's house. Meanwhile, Philip arrives in Manila and pays Tomas a surprise visit.

Anxiety plagues Tomas as Philip arrives in the country to uncover the mystery behind Edson's disappearance. Seeing Philip as a threat, Tomas swears to do everything to protect his family business from Philip. Meanwhile, Cardo finds himself outside a suspicious club named Red Dragon after following the man he saw at Dr. Morales' house and later catches a glimpse of Philip.

Cardo begins to question his own belief that Diego is still alive when he sees the latter's wife mourning at his tomb. Meanwhile, feelings of guilt and inferiority plague Onyok after his untoward encounter with Iñigo and other school bullies. Making things worse, Iñigo's father uses his power as governor to compel the school principal to expel Onyok.

Tomas agrees with Joaquin's plan of starting up a war between Cardo and Philip as Philip already doubts his ability to manage the organization. Meanwhile, Dencio and his friend, take Ofelia's class hostage after failing to execute their original plan of abducting Iñigo. Cardo, who happens to be at the school, attempts to rescue the children.

Upon knowing Dencio's motive for taking Iñigo hostage, Cardo offers to help Dencio if he lays down his arms. Holding on to Cardo's promise, Dencio decides to surrender, but Dino later arrives and shoots Dencio dead. Enraged, Cardo beats up Dino for his merciless act, but soon earns the ire of his superiors and puts him in a bad light. Amid his plight, Cardo sees a reason to smile when he unexpectedly finds Glen's letter for him.

As a disciplinary measure for beating up Dino, Cardo gets suspended and is ordered to report to the Highway Patrol Group for the meantime. There, Cardo stumbles upon a new challenge when he notices underhanded transactions among the members of the agency. Meanwhile, Glen finds out that Cardo has just read her letter to him.

Cardo continues to serve as a traffic enforcer for the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), striving to become a role model for his crooked colleagues. Meanwhile, Tomas gets frustrated when his group favors Philip's proposition to sell illegal drugs over his plan to focus on their human trafficking business.

As he eases into his task as a Highway Patrol Group (HPG) officer, Cardo strives to impart his integrity with his colleagues from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). He especially takes notice of Miguel, a man with a wife and a young child, and ensures that Miguel supports his family with clean money. Meanwhile, Joaquin and Tomas devise a plan to eliminate both Philip and Cardo.

Philip becomes frustrated when Cardo seizes his delivery truck carrying the contraband, unaware of Tomas' involvement in it. Tomas continues to pit Philip and Cardo against each other as he pinpoints the police officer as the cause of their troubles.

After performing exceptional feats as a traffic enforcer, Cardo is summoned back to the CIDG. Meanwhile, a new crime syndicate, which uses the "budol-budol" scheme and a sleep-inducing chemical to victimize its targets, emerges in the metro.

Carmen finally finds it in her heart to apologize to Flora after being mad at the latter for so long. Flora begins to worry for Cardo's safety as her grandson is once again a part of the CIDG. Meanwhile, Lolit becomes a victim of a notorious "budol-budol" gang.

Despite Delfin's instruction to focus on the drug case, a hardheaded Cardo decides to help Glen in bringing justice to the victims of the "budol-budol" gang. Meanwhile, Teresa tries in vain to convince Marita to stop their illegal activities.

Cardo and Glen go undercover as a rich couple in order to lure the "budol-budol" criminals. However, Delfin finds out that Cardo has sneaked out to help Glen with her quest and orders Cardo to return to his office. Meanwhile, Junior roams the street singing Christmas carols, hoping to get enough money to convince Carmen not to move to Canada.

Despite his successful operation against the "budol-budol" syndicate, Cardo fails to capture its leader, Victor, and later discovers that the gang is just a part of a bigger group headed by Victor's godfather.

Delfin orders his subordinates to focus on their unsolved agendas, especially on the "budol-budol" syndicate. Meanwhile, Carmen reaches out to the late Ador's family by allowing Junior to spend time with them.

Isabel and her new confederates attend Rep. Trinidad's charity ball disguised as wealthy ladies. During the party, Isabel sneaks inside the master bedroom and steals expensive pieces of jewelry. Upon receiving the report, Delfin informs his subordinates, including Cardo, that Victor was seen with the women who stole from the politician's house.

Amid his tight schedule and tough assignments, Cardo agrees to help Keana in finding her estranged father, Kenneth. Meanwhile, Isabel reveals her secret to Victor and plans to leave her benefactor's group for her family's sake.

On top of his mission to track down a group of "budol-budol" criminals, Cardo takes on the task of helping Keana find her father. While Joaquin and his friends devise a strategy to sabotage Cardo's case, Phillip and Tomas plan to outsmart one another.

Trouble brews as Philip plans to recruit Diego, whom Philip feels is growing resentful toward Tomas. Meanwhile, Cardo and his fellow officers struggle in monitoring the activities of Isabel's group. Soon, Isabel learns about Verna's birthday party after drinking with Jess, unaware that the man is part of another syndicate.

Following Ninong's instructions, Isabel successfully steals Verna's jewelry collection during the latter's birthday party. Meanwhile, Cardo continues to investigate the "budol-budol" syndicate and strives to locate Kenneth, J.Lo's estranged husband.

After having a fun night at her birthday party, Verna discovers that her jewelry collection has been stolen. Through the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, Joaquin confirms that the thieves, who are members of the syndicate that the police are currently looking for, disguised as guests to get inside the house. Meanwhile, Glen sees the profile of Conrado Villegas, the same man who was referred to as Ninong in the market and points it out to Cardo.

Accompanied by Benny, Cardo disguises as a clown in a rich businessman's party with the hopes of catching Isabel's group, whom he believes will show up at the event. Meanwhile, Junior's insistence of wanting Cardo to replace the late Ador starts to annoy Carmen.

During their undercover mission at a children's party, Cardo, Joaquin, and their team successfully apprehend a number of Conrado's followers. However, gathering information remains futile as Isabel refuses to speak a word about her involvement with the crime ring. Soon, Cardo decides to put Conrado under surveillance once again but fails to find anything when the mob boss catches the team in the act.

Amid his investigation on the "budol-budol" gang, Cardo visits the late Ador's grave and finds time to bond with his loved ones before Christmas. Meanwhile, Conrado and his henchmen prepare to get even with Cardo for killing Victor and for apprehending Isabel.

Following Glen's request, Cardo gives himself a breather as he celebrates Christmas with his loved ones, but promises Keana that he will find her estranged father as soon as possible.

Diego invites Sophie (Isabel) to meet with him, unaware that Cardo is using Isabel's phone to gather information on her connection with Leonardo Demetrio. Upon arriving at the concerted meeting place, Diego sees Cardo and immediately flees the scene. Soon, Tomas and Joaquin fume upon realizing that Diego has once again put their organization in danger. Verna learns about this and tearfully asks her husband and son to leave the illegal group and start their life anew.

The police enforcers zealously gather evidence to apprehend Demetrio, the man they suspect to be the leader of the "budol-budol" gang. Meanwhile, Raymond's group emerges in the metro to do Demetrio's bidding.

Cardo and his group stakeout at one of Demetrio's properties and keep watch as Raymond, Brad, and Jenna cautiously prepare for their next operation. Meanwhile, Flora and Onyok roam the streets of their community to warn their neighbors against the danger of using firecrackers.

While Raymond's group successfully burglarizes the house of their victim, the police enforcers hit another roadblock upon failing to garner evidence to prove that Raymond, their current target, is in cahoots with Conrado. Meanwhile, Benny learns of his importance to Flora's family after being temporarily jailed for selling firecrackers.

While Raymond returns to his family, Ninong assures Brad and Jenna that they have nothing to worry about, saying that the authorities are far from catching them. Meanwhile, Cardo sets out with Benny to find Keana's father, Kenneth, in hopes of fulfilling his promise to the child before the year ends.

Cardo fulfills his promise to Keana when he manages to convince Kenneth to come home to his family. The Guzmans also arrive at the barangay and celebrate the turn of the year with Cardo, Flora, and their neighbors. Meanwhile, Raymond meets with Brad and Jenna and tries to persuade them to leave the syndicate.

Thinking that the house Raymond, Brad, and Jenna ransacked belongs to Cardo, Ninong orders them to burn it down. When the group sees the Guzmans arrive, Brad holds the family captive. Just as things begin to worsen, Cardo decides to return to the Guzman residence and immediately notices something afoot.

While the Guzmans deal with the trauma brought about by Brad and his men, Cardo finds the perfect strategy to compel Jenna to divulge Ninong's real identity. Confirming that Demetrio is indeed the notorious syndicate leader, Cardo and his team set out to seize Ninong.

Joaquin and Tomas instruct their men to kill Diego, who manages to escape with his family. Meanwhile, a woman named Noemi finds herself trapped in the lair of a syndicate led by a certain Madam Olga.

As Tomas and Joaquin race against time to find and kill Diego, Philip makes his own move to find Diego for his own vested interest. Meanwhile, Cardo extends his help to Glen in investigating Noemi's disappearance. He and Glen soon find a promising lead.

Noemi finds out that she has been kidnapped by a human trafficking syndicate. Meanwhile, Glen and Cardo manage to get hold of the CCTV footage which proves that Noemi was kidnapped. Elsewhere, Tomas and Verna warn Joaquin that his growing affection for Carmen might put their schemes in jeopardy.

Cardo, Onyok, Benny, and Keanna join Carmen and Junior in the child's field trip to Ocean Park. However, Carmen soon finds herself in trouble when she crosses paths with Olga, who instructs her men to abduct the lady. By a stroke of luck, the kidnapping fails to go smoothly, and Cardo manages to interrogate Olga. Olga soon catches Cardo's attention when she denies that it was Carmen who was abducted.

Cardo, Glen, Billy, and SPO1 Soriano find evidence which suggests that Carmen has become a victim of human trafficking. A determined Cardo soon takes the investigation into his hands as he calls Madam Olga in for more questioning. Meanwhile, Carmen endures her captors' taunts as she tries to come up with a good strategy to escape Madam Olga's clutches.

Confident that she can outsmart the police, Olga meets up with Cardo and succeeds in pretending that she cannot remember the faces of Carmen's kidnappers. A determined Cardo decides to dress up as a woman in hopes of alluring and ensnaring the involved syndicate.

Disguised as Paloma, Cardo goes to a hotel with a foreigner to look for a lead on Carmen's whereabouts. However, the foreigner catches Cardo rummaging through his belongings and accuses him of theft. Making things worse for Cardo, Benny sees Paloma entering the house and mistakes Paloma as Cardo's woman.

Carmen seizes an opportunity to escape, but Olga's men manage to foil her attempt by shooting Doreen. While serving her punishment, Carmen finds unexpected help from Lorena. Meanwhile, Joaquin races against time to find Carmen after Tomas warned him about using their connections in the organization.

After finding another lead on Carmen's case, Cardo once again takes the identity of Paloma and befriends the co-workers of a missing woman named Elaine. On his way to a night out with Elaine's co-workers, Cardo meets a cab driver named Arnold, who claims that Elaine took his cab home before she was reported missing. Meanwhile, Joaquin becomes more determined to find Carmen despite his parents' wishes that he drop the case.

After spending time with Arnold, Cardo, still disguised as Paloma, concludes that the man is innocent. Meanwhile, Flora begins to suspect that Cardo has not been forthright about his mission. Making things more puzzling for Flora, Onyok finds a set of women's clothing under Cardo's bed.

Noticing that Cardo has been acting strangely, Flora, Yolly, and Elmo start to suspect that Cardo is gay. Meanwhile, an incident pushes Lorena to help Noemi and Carmen escape, but Olga catches them in the act.

Cardo dresses up as Paloma once more to end things with Arnold. On his way home, Cardo crosses paths with Glen and Rigor, who almost catch him dressed up as Paloma. Meanwhile, Lorena's life meets an unfortunate end in the hands of the villainous Olga.

With another woman reported missing, Cardo takes a bold step in apprehending the syndicate. With Apple's help, Paloma is accepted as a beauty pageant contestant. Meanwhile, Carmen manages to steal the phone of one of her captors.

Joaquin disobeys his father's orders for him to stop his investigation on Carmen's case. He soon manages to contact Olga, their sole lead. Meanwhile, Cardo dresses up as Paloma to join a beauty pageant, where an unsuspecting Olga decides to seek her next victim.

Glen finally discovers that Paloma is none other than Cardo. Meanwhile, Cardo inches a step closer to finding Carmen as Olga and her men abduct Paloma right after the pageant.

Cardo successfully infiltrates the casa and begins his search for Carmen. Olga goes to the police station for her appointment, unaware of Joaquin's plan to use her as a key to locate the syndicate's headquarters.

Without due order, Joaquin leads his team in raiding the casa. However, Olga and her men manage to relocate Paloma and some of their captives to another venue. Pressed to save Carmen, the police begin an all-out search for Olga.

Flora and the others worry about Cardo's disappearance, making Glen reconsider keeping Cardo's mission a secret. Joaquin continues his own search for Carmen amid the threat of Diego's return. Meanwhile, Cardo finds a perfect opportunity to call Delfin.
