A local and successful pop idol is working at a cafe in town, but is aiming for becoming an actress. She was orphaned as a child and raised by her barber uncle who himself never married or had children. Toko is scheduled to travel to Tokyo for an audition when the earthquake and tsunami of 2011 hit Japan. Instead her co-worker and she travel to the affected area and volunteer.

Toko is off to Tokyo to audition so her dream of becoming an actress comes true. She receives a surprise visit from a man - who was a volunteer leader - she met in the area affected by the earthquake and the tsunami. They have the same feelings for one another and things progress rapidly. Life has a way of throwing them for a loop however.

The short-lived couple are separated. While one lives in The Philippines the other is in Japan and working a new job to make money. The woman is hiding major news from her former boyfriend albeit with good intentions. The same is also replicated in The Phillipines, but sadly no good deed goes unpunished. A former class-mate is back in town and makes his feeling clear for Toko.

Toko travels to Tokyo in search for her former boyfriend and fellow volunteer only to find out that, while he is back in Japan, his exact whereabouts are unknown. She does find out which area he is in and stalks it. What she finds is a surprise and she is dismayed. That is only the beginning of the bad news for the day.

There is a tragedy at the same time as a welcoming. Could the two events be connected? Toko has a new man and is pregnant. This is and should be one of the happiest moments of her life, but life introduces twists and turns and there are multiple historical and new events that get in the way of her, and her man's, happiness.

Toko loses a third man in her life, but she keeps her head held high and marches forward. She has relocated and learning new skills in a new environment, but an old friend appears in her town suddenly. There are possibilities, but is there an opening? Life goes on and no amount of regrets, history or loneliness will change the course.
