When an Austrian billionaire is diagnosed with Hepatitis D, he enlists his dysfunctional family to find him a new liver and promises his entire fortune to the one who succeeds.

Rauchsteiner's estranged son arrives from Africa. Kralicek suffers a severe setback but never gives up. Rauchsteiner makes an offer to his broken family: Anyone who gets him a liver will take all his wealth. Everyone else gets nothing.

Rauchsteiner's right hand Brunner can no longer hide his double life. The transplant commissioner is threatening to take public action against him. The mayor is blackmailed. Rauchsteiner's addicted son Zeno receives a surprising offer.

Zeno gambles more than he has in the club of the mysterious commander. Rauchsteiner's condition is rapidly deteriorating. The mayor sees his furs floating away in the forthcoming committee of inquiry. Jakob and his sister Jana rediscover their love for each other, prevented by the father. Kralicek hides the Zeno who fears for his life. Rauchsteiner's Israeli sister brought a restitution suit.

Rauchsteiner sees ghosts of his past. Kerstin ends up in prison. Jakob becomes suspicious and takes his father to the hospital. Brunner tries to save his marriage. Jakob comes across a potential liver donor.
