Dad has just done spring cleaning and forbade Alfons and Viktor to scatter toys all over the apartment. With great inventiveness, they instead use other completely everyday things in their fantasy play.

Alfons doesn't want to eat dinner even though dad, who has cooked meatballs, does everything to get him to the table. But Alfons stubbornly refuses. Instead, he wants to play with the cat Puzzle.

Alfons Åberg babysits Småtting and has decided to read cute fairy tales and help him with everything. But it doesn't turn out as he had planned.

Alfons fantasizes about being king with great power and with magical powers in a sack of strength.

Dad complains about Alfons' messy "childishness", he himself is doing adult things and is just worried. But Alfons manages to trick dad into really crazy adventures.

Dad's birthday and Alfons can't think of a present. Dad doesn't wish for anything and other adults can't give any good advice.

Alfons's cousins come to visit. They think Alfons and Milla are childish and don't want to play with them. Instead, they destroy everything that has been prepared and there is chaos and disorder.

Alfons wants to be an inventor and together with Milla and Hamdi he comes up with lots of clever inventions, things that are missing and really needed.

Alfons and Hamdi play war, but Hamdi's father, who has been in a real war, says that such things are terrible and only destroy. He tells a war memory of his own about an ant.

"Alfons are you there?" Dad calls out, and it sets off an imaginative mind trip, which takes Alfons underground, up in the air, in and out of people's minds.

Alfons is saving for a computer game. But it is difficult to save and give up sweets and pleasures - and the temptation to cheat becomes so great that he deceives himself.

It's a big party and Alfons and Småtting get to sit at the adult table. Alfons, who has been with us before, will look after Småtting and make sure he is comfortable.

Alfons has started school and gets a classmate who is mean and scares everyone - bullies and plays king. No one dares to object. Not Alfons either.
