On September 28, 2018 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, a retired US veteran, Michael Ward, shoots a wanted felon fugitive, Sean Allen (age 35) in the back. Allen was on the veteran's property and had allegedly previously stolen items from Michael Edward Ward. Allen's autopsy showed that he was high on methamphetamine at the time of his death. The legal system must decide whether the veteran was acting in self-defense or murdering the fugitive. The trial takes place in the Mayes County Courthouse, with defense attorney Misty Fields representing Ward.
