Vietnam, the country hosting International ABU Robocon 2013, chooses "The Green Planet" as the theme for this year's Asia Pacific Contest.

Ambience of the Game Field built in the Badminton Court of Balewadi Stadium, Pune reflects the global theme that reminds us our responsibility towards Mother Earth and its environment.

The National Robotic Contest opens as a live proof of the fact that machines are like wild beasts that need to be harnessed by the supreme power of human intelligence.

After dignitaries flag off the prestigious contest with their presence on the arena and a friendly match sets the tempo for the next three days, a record number of 78 teams start turning out for the absorbing matches.

The robots designed, built and operated by young technocrats try their best to prove the creativity and innovation of their creators by trying to achieve the key objective of this event 'The Green Earth'

Relatively humble colleges from remote areas rub shoulders with giants like the Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology to make their way to the next level.

Last year's champions from MIT, Pune find their place among the 8 best teams which qualify for the final rounds and enter again the arena symbolically transformed into planet Earth.

Defeating the opponent teams in Quarter Final and Semi final matches of the tournament, another team from Pune Vishvakarma Institute of Technology emerges as a prime contender for the national championship.

Defending champions from Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune defeat Team VIT, Pune in a tense grand finale match to clinch the Indian National Robocon title for the second consecutive year.

Some rare moments of joy and cheer after the national victory are energy boosters refreshing the tired minds and bodies, which will have to toil hard day and night with immense dedication and devotion, to achieve their ultimate goal.

As the National Champions feel a need to rethink strategies and revamp the machines, the team immerses itself wholeheartedly in the preparations for a breath taking competition with the best engineering minds of the Asia pacific region.

With months of preparation, a passionate spirit, and an unceasing stream of enthusiasm, Team India is confident of a meritorious performance in the global arena at Danang, Vietnam.
