1958. Mrs.Adalgisa is unable to hide her happiness: her heir, Rogério, arrived with the picture perfect bride, Tatiana. The party won't just be perfect because Rogério insists on keeping close his friends Ermelinda and Álvaro.

1953. Mrs. Adalgisa and Rodolfo receives a special visit in the weekend: their tenants Leonor and her husband, Genésio. To celebrate the couple's arrival, Adalgisa prepares a special cod lasagna for lunch where Aunt Vitória will be the guest of honor.

1952. Rogério arrives home surprising Adalgisa with his old friend from boarding school, Escobar. Mrs. Adalgisa is delighted with the boy's gallantry, whom flirts with Ermelinda, leaving Rogério blinded by jealousy.

1951. Going back in time, we will meet Antônio, Ermelinda's ex-husband, who turned her into a divorcee - giving much cruel pleasure to Mrs. Adalgisa.

1951. The year that Álvaro moved to Santa Cecília, to the terror of Mrs. Adalgisa. Ermelinda is getting married, and Álvaro ends up moving in with Aunt Vitória, while engaging in a romance with Rogério.

1957. A serial killer known as "The Strangler " is keeping the Santa Cecília neighborhood in alert. Delegate Dr Tarcísio begins to thoroughly investigate the identity of the serial killer, at the same time that Ermelinda's ex-husband, Antônio, appears to obtain an old debt with Mrs. Adalgisa.

1927. Adalgisa and Rodolfo recently got married, and moved to Santa Cecília. She has the desire to build a happy family, while he wants to become a rich man thanks to his father-in-law. 1958. Adalgisa silently faces her ghosts, daughter-in-law Tatiana and her greatest disaffection, Neide.
