When he was a teenager, 1993, Dong Jin played a supporting role in television series Oriental Bussinessmen (1995). In 2003, he graduated from Centeral Drama Academy musical institute. Then, Jin gain some critics' attention, as the lead actor of his film debut Autumn Rain (2005), for which he nominated Huabiao Film Award for Outstanding New Actor. The next year, he played a Japanese solider in Chuang Guan Dong (2006). On the stage, Dong Jin as "Fang Dasheng" in re-make play Sunrise (2008), as "Chairman Mao" in play Jing Tian Lei (2010). For his remarkable performance, Jin won China Golden Lion Award, which is one of the most prestige play award in mainland China. After several audience welcomed series, he won Asian Rainbow Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2012, for Wenzhou Family (2012). The critical acclaimed television series The Disguiser (2015) highlighted his career. Jin played Ming Lou, who is the double-agent in the WWII.
