Zeb Halsell was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 21, 1990. He grew up on a ranch just outside of Wichita Falls near what was once the inhabited town of Halsell, Texas. The town of Halsell was established in 1900 but later dissolved when the city condemned over 16,000 acres of land by eminent domain to build a lake that ultimately submerged the town underwater.In 2006, Mr. Halsell moved to Los Angeles at the age of sixteen to get a jump start on college and pursue a degree in finance. Through mutual contacts he was prompted to get involved in the entertainment industry and has since appeared in numerous films, tv shows and commercials and later formed an entertainment company that focuses on the development and production of feature films, television shows and music.In 2013, Mr. Halsell launched a hedge fund that specializes in systematic intraday trading using quantitative models derived from mathematical and statistical analyses. This algorithmic trading system later became a key role in hedging crude oil, natural gas prices and highly volatile commodities during the market crash of 2020 to deliver the fund its most profitable quarter.In 2017, Mr. Halsell launched an exploration and production company in Dallas, Texas which specializes in the acquisition and divestiture of prolific oil and gas assets in the Permian Basin of West Texas. The company has done over 300 transactions totaling over $250 million in transactional value and has become one of the leaders in organic acquisitions in the energy industry of Dallas, Texas.
