Joining ASCAP in 1921, his chief musical collaborator was Dorothy Donnelly, and his popular-song compositions include "Smile, Legionnaire", "The Latin Quarter", "Sally of My Dreams", "A Pair of Blue Eyes", "The Village Belle", "Steppin' Along", "Beware of Love", and "Can't Get Along Without You".
