Viviana Cordero's multifaceted work as a novelist, playwright and film writer and director has made her one of the influential authors of her generation. She was born in Quito, Ecuador, in 1964, and studied Modern Literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Viviana's first novel, "El Paraíso de Ariana", was published in 1994. Her subsequent novels are "El Teatro de los Monstruos" (2000), "Una pobre..., tan ¿qué hace?" (2001), "Mundos Opuestos" (2010) and "Voces" (2011). Her forthcoming book is scheduled for publication March 2019.In between these books, Viviana wrote and directed a series of plays that have been reviewed very favorably: "Mano a Mano", "Tres", "Escenas Familiares", "María Magdalena la mujer borrada", "De Arrugas y Bisturís", "La Torera", "Anatomía", "Amor... Puertas Afuera", "Amores.com", "Bien Quedada o Mal Casada", and "¿Bailamos...?"In cinema, Viviana wrote the screenplays and directed the following films: "Sensaciones" (1991), "Un Titán en el Ring" (2002), "Retazos de Vida" (2007), "No Robarás... a menos que sea necesario" (2013), and "Sólo Es Una Más" (2017). She also wrote and directed a 24 episode TV series, "El Gran Retorno" (1996).Viviana resides in Quito with her son Tiag and her cat Lotus.
