Vamshi was born in Nirmal Telangana in India. He did his schooling in Hyderabad Public School, and his intermediate from Little Flower Junior College. He then completed Bachelor's in commerce and a Master's in Computer Applications (MCA) from Badruka Educational Society. He later quit his software job and got into films as an assistant director for the film Eeshwar in 2002 and worked as an associate director for Varsham, Mass and Bhadra .He Debuted as director with Munna(2007) which was unsuccessful. He got his first breakthrough with his second movie Brindaavanam(2010)
