Tom was born and raised in Dallas. He is the middle child of three children. After the title role in his first grade play "Santa Claus Comes To Town", he knew he wanted something to do with entertainment. It seems being cast as a doctor was a recurring theme. He has been a doctor six times. After Lake Highlands High School, Tom graduated with a Radio/TV/Film degree from East Texas State University.After being an oilfield engineer and an insurance sales manager for 30 years, he was visiting a set where his nephew, Nick Sowell, was in a film, started his late entry into film acting.Tom is now involved with Tall Castle, a film company that also does teaching for the various above and below the line crew positions.
