Sos Sargsyan
Sos Sargsyan was born on Oct 24, 1929 in USSR [now Armenia]. Sos Sargsyan's big-screen debut came with Tern u tzaran directed by Dmitri Kesayants in 1963, strarring Manas. Sos Sargsyan is known for Gikor directed by Sergei Israelyan, Albert Gulinyan stars as Gikor and Sos Sargsyan as Hambo. The most recent award Sos Sargsyan achieved is People's Artist of the USSR. The upcoming new movie Sos Sargsyan plays is The Lighthouse which will be released on Oct 27, 2006.
He has graduated from the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute in 1954. From 1954 he performed at the Sundukyan Drama Theatre of Yerevan. In 1992 he established and headed "Hamazgain" Theatre. Since 1997 he is the rector of Yerevan Institute of Theatre and Cinema. Besides Armenian films has starred in a number of Russian films, most notable of which is Solaris (1972), directed by Andrei Tarkovsky.
