She was cast as Natalie Portman's mother in Broadway's revival of The Diary of Anne Frank and played Karen in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of the Pulitzer Prize winning play Dinner With Friends. Sophie grew up in a tiny dairy farming hamlet near Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Northwestern University's Theater Department and has played leading roles at Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theater Club, Roundabout Theater and Second Stage in New York. When she is not acting, she plays the role of profoundly happy mother to her two daughters
