Solomon Lazurin was born on May 27, 1899 in Russian Empire (now Ukraine). Solomon Lazurin's big-screen debut came with Tri komnaty s kukhney directed by Mykola Shpykovskyi in 1928.

After graduation from high school in the city of Valuyki, Voronezh province (1917), Lazurin worked in the 1920s in Kharkov as secretary of the theater and music department, then the department of arts at Narkompros - the People's Commissariat of Education. At the same time he studied at the Kharkov Institute of Public Education. - In 1923-1935 he worked in the VUFKU film magazine "Makhovik" (Flywheel). - In 1935-1941, Solomon Lazurin was artistic director of the "Kiyevskoy kinofabriki - byl utverzhdon" (Kiev studio of feature films). During the war, he was a correspondent for Kustanai Pravda, and after its end until 1949, he was the editor at the Kiev film studio of feature films. Author of scripts for fiction and popular science films.
