Shayne Edwards was born on May 3rd, 1980 in Lausanne, Switzerland to American parents, a father who was an editor and translator for the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) and a mother who was a dental hygienist, both who lived in Europe and met at a church retreat. They moved back to the States just six weeks after his birth. As a child, his father worked as a saltwater fisherman on the Carolina Islands but retired to pursue a career as a lawyer. This took his family up to Ohio where his father studied at the University of Toledo and then, when Edwards was nine, back to Europe for one year where his father studied international law at the University of Brussels in Belgium. They returned back to the States where his father practiced law in Michigan for five years before they finally settled in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1994.After high school, Edwards enrolled at Tennessee Technological University where he was double majoring in history and journalism with the intent of later getting his masters in film with a concentration in directing. After a few years, he dropped out and just picked up a camera and some editing software and spent the next few years making short films while independently studying the works of directors such as Edward Zwick, M. Night Shyamalan, and especially Ridley Scott. In 2005, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he was given a job as a senior film editor with an independent production company. He then went freelance in 2006 and moved back to Tennessee, settling in Nashville in 2007 where he continued freelancing, making a handful of music videos and EPKs for various music artists. He had made an unreleased feature narrative drama/suspense film, Prodigal, but his real name as a director came when in 2008 he partnered with nationally syndicated radio talk-show host, Phil Valentine, to direct An Inconsistent Truth, the rebuttal to former vice-president Al Gore's, An Inconvenient Truth. After four years in the making, the film was released by Rocky Mountain Pictures in January of 2012 in Nashville to become the top-grossing movie per screen average in the country for its first two weeks, garnishing rave reviews from film critics and recognition from conservative talk show hosts across the country, including the likes of former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and CBS's Inside Edition, Rita Cosby.Edwards lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
