Shankar

Shankar was born on Jul 30, 1960 in India. Shankar's big-screen debut came with Manjil Virinja Pookkal directed by Fazil in 1980, strarring Prem Kishan. Shankar is known for Abhimanyu directed by Priyadarshan, Mohanlal stars as Hari and Shankar as Shekhar. The upcoming new movie Shankar plays is Njaan Samvidhanam Cheyyum which will be released on Sep 19, 2015.

Often referred as the Romantic hero of Malayalam films, Shanker was also a popular star in Tamil films, as his debut film "Oru Thalai Raagam" completed 365 days in several theaters. Consistent box office performances made him a busy actor of both the states. He ruled Malayalam films till mid 80's. He decided to take a break from films in early 90's as he lost his market value and could n't create the same stardom with his comeback films. Shanker has now turned director, while doing important roles in several films.
