Director and Producer, who was born in 1872 and became one of the first Filmakers in Mexican cinema, he began studying to become an engineer, but eventually he became attracted to filmaking and in 1897, he opened the first movie theatre in Mexico city, a year later he began to produce and direct his own movies which were mostly documentaries, he began filming in 1898, he went on to film a large number of documentaries, including some about the Mexican revolution, his last film was shot in 1921, in 1950 his daughter Carmen Toscano, included many scenes of her father's films in a documentary film entitled, Memorias de un Mexicano.
