A talented Mexican stage actress, the tall and distinguished-looking Rosa Furman was known for her character roles in movies and television series. The daughter of Jewish immigrants, she was born in Mexico City and studied English and drama at the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM). Rosa soon found work on the stage and won critical acclaim for her performance in a production of Paul Claudel's La anunciación a María (1950). After many stage appearances, she began her film career with a minor role as an aspiring dancer in the Lola Flores vehicle De color moreno (1963).
