Roman Khrushch was born in Kharkov (Ukraine) in 1960 in a family of the Soviet technical intelligentsia. His father Boris was the researcher in area of physics of low temperatures, and mother Lubov - the engineer-programmer. As a child he was fond of photography and that passion led him to VGIK (All-Union State Institute of Cinematography) at the age of 16. After graduation in 1981 he filmed documentaries as a director and cameraman. 15 years later, he decided to try his hand at feature films and graduated from Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in 1998 as writer and director in studio of Vladimir Motyl, well-known Russian director. His feature film debut was in 2001 (a short story "Cross-and-nought" in the almanac "Two paper Soldiers"). Now Roman Khrushch known as the writer and director of several films,TV-movies and documentaries.
