She starred in the film Gagner la vie (2001), which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. She was also in the Oscar Winning film Amour (2012). Rita Blanco already won 4 Portuguese Golden Globes for Best Actress with Gagner la vie (2001), Sangue do Meu Sangue (2011), La cage dorée (2013) and 11 fois Fátima (2017).
