He is a two-time Academy Award-winning editor, an incredibly intelligent, kind, unique and loving man who began using a computer when in his 90s and lived to see the publication of his memoirs, "Some Cutting Remarks: Seventy Years a Film Editor", which he wrote on his own PC. He was highly admired and sought-after by up-and-coming editors for his advice and experience, and always gave of himself to these young people. An interviewer once asked him whether he would someday enjoy directing movies. His answer: "You betcha". Ralph E. Winters was incredibly loved and is desperately missed.
