Peter Sloterdijk was born on June 26, 1947, the son of a German mother and a Dutch father. From 1968 to 1974 he studied Philosophy, History and German Studies in Munich and at the University of Hamburg. In 1971 Sloterdijk wrote his master's thesis titled Structuralism as poetic hermeneutics.
