Peter Meremblum
Peter Meremblum was born on Sep 22, 1890 in Russia. Peter Meremblum's big-screen debut came with The Hard-Boiled Canary directed by Andrew L. Stone in 1941, strarring Peter Meremblum (Violin Instructor).
Meremblum studied with Leopold Auer and graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He came to America and, after a time in New York, arrived in Los Angeles. In 1936, he founded the Peter Meremblum California Junior Symphony, which was dedicated to the musical education and enrichment of youth ages 8 to 18. Funded by his own money for the first few years, the orchestra flourished and became a desired place for young musicians (ages 8 to 18) to learn new musical skills, improve their technique, and broaden their understanding of classical music. The Meremblum orchestra has produced many renowed and respected concert and symphony musicians over the years. Even though Mr. Meremblum passed away in 1966, the orchestra still exists today, a tribute to the man whose tireless efforts resulted in the betterment of thousands of young people not only in music, but in life as well.
