Pawel Borowski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Faculties of Painting and Animation Movies) summa cum laude in 1997. After graduation, he has had several individual exhibitions e.g. in the Centre for Contemporary Art and Zacheta National Gallery of Art. He also started making short films, the latest of which, I LOVE YOU, has been shown at many international festivals, e.g. Berlinale and Tribeca FF.In 2009 he made his debut with the full-length film Zero, produced by Opus Film (Poland). ZERO was shown in numerous festivals such Busan, Sao Paulo, Rotterdam, Washington, Munich, Milan, etc. gained critical acclaim and five times won Grand Prix. Since 2010 Pawel is a member of the Polish Film Academy and the European Film Academy.For the subsequent few years Pawel has developed several projects, to finally enter the set of I AM LYING NOW in 2016. The film is a thriller noir, whose action is set in a retro-futuristic, fictitious world. The plot is full of surprising twists, spinning an incredibly gripping story, wherein nothing is what it seems. I AM LYING NOW is the European coproduction of Opus Film (Poland) and New Amsterdam Film Company (Netherlands). With the editing completed, the film is currently in post-production.
