Patty was born February 14, 1930, to Paul and Elsie Regan (nee Lawrence) in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She attended Clark College in Dubuque, Iowa, and subsequently studied at the University of Wisconsin. Having graduated from drama school in Pasadena she first made her mark in musical revues on Broadway (where she was billed as 'Patti Regan') and eventually debuted on screen in 1960.
