Onur Canpek was born on Apr 08, 1995 in Turkey. Onur Canpek's big-screen debut came with Hür directed by Onur Canpek in 2016.

He was born in April 1995 in Tekirdag, Turkey. He graduated from Tekirdag (Turkey) Science High School, he has studied Psychology and Media - Visual Arts with full scholarship at Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey. He also gained Film and Video track program. In school years, he took part as director, director of photography and assistant director in several student films. He has produced and directed music videos, commercials and promo videos. He has worked as cameraman, editor and videographer. Hür was his first professional short film experience. It has been a finalist in the Yapimlab@!f: A Creative Production Workshop and Pitching Platform. He worked on this project for a year months starting from March 2016 with the support of Zeynep Atakan. I started a fund raising campaign over Fongogo (a replica of Indiegogo) to pass on Hür to life and I succeeded. Hür has been selected several film festivals around the World including MedFF, Ca Foscari, Mammoth Lakes, Cannes Short Film Corner, Youth Film Festival of Sarajevo, and so on. Hür's broadcasting rights - for one year period- are sold to Vizioon Festival which is a TV channel operating in Turkey.His second short film, Dün, is in pre-production and the first episode of the web series Chickenland which he co-writes and directs is in post-production.Right now, he is working on a very zealous project: [alt]platform [alt]platform is a paid distribution platform which creates original and alternative short visual contents (series, films, documentaries, shows) while curating existing media pieces of many talented Turkish media makers. [alt]platform distributes the price, which the viewer pays monthly, among the contents that viewer watches comparatively by the amount of the content's screen time. Therefore the content makes money as much as it is watched.
