Ómar Örn Hauksson was born in Reykjavik Iceland in 1975. He grew up in the suburb of Breidholt where he went to school and then later high school. He was always a TV and movie addict and never one to play sports, rather spent his days cooped inside reading comics, drawing and watching TV. In high school he got in touch with people who were making music and started to fiddle in death metal, forming the band Den Danske Dod (The Danish Dead) with his mates and then later going in to hip hop music which led him to join the band Quarashi a few years later. Traveling all over the United States he met and worked with loads of talented people, including DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill and Len Wiseman of Underworld and Die Hard 4 fame who did their first big video. The performed with such acts as Emminem, Guns and Roses, Weezer, N.E.R.D, The Used and Lost Prophets and have opened shows for 50 Cents and The Prodigy. After a mild success in the states and in Japan the band started to drift apart and then finally split up in 2005. In that time Omar hosted a weekly music show, wrote articles on movies for local newspapers and then in 2006 was offered the role of Uri in the Smirnoff Ice commercials. Along side this he studied in the Iceland Academy of the arts where he graduated with a B.A Degree in Graphic design in 2007. He has also worked for Zik Zak Filmworks as a screen writer and is first and foremost a designer who specializes in movie posters.
