Noboru Sugimura was a professional television and video game writer in Japan, best known for being the main scribe of Capcom's popular Biohazard (Resident Evil) franchise. In the early 1990s, he worked on various television shows in Japan, including _"Kamen Raidaa Burakku" (1987)_ and Kyôryû sentai Jûrenjâ (1992), among other "tokusatsu" shows. His first worked in the video game industry as a writer in Biohazard 2 (1998). During the development of the game, he and Yoshiki Okamoto formed Flagship, a subsidiary of Capcom dedicated to writing stories and plots for video games. Since then, he worked on various games, such as Dino Crisis 2 (2000) and Onimusha (2001), among others. He also wrote Resident Evil: Code: Veronica (2000) (considered to be the true sequel to Biohazard 1 & 2 over the actual Biohazard 3) and Biohazard Ø (2002), as well as the Gun Survivor games. He was described to be energetic by his peers. He passed away on February 25, 2005 from an undisclosed cause.
