Graduated in Yao City. In 1977 he was awarded with the Shougakukan New Cartoonist Prize and joined the publisher to do his first hit, "Dash! Kappei" in 1978, serialized in the "Weekly Shounen Sunday". Also for this publisher he did "Twin" (serialized in the "Shounen Big Comic" and later in the "Young Sunday" and made into an Original Video Animation) and "F" (serialized in the "Big Comic" and made into an animation TV series in 1988).
