Born to a US Naval sailor & Japanese mother, Neal spent half of his life overseas on the Pacific Islands of Hawaii & Japan. His family returned to the United States in the early nineties, where he attended high schools in Kenosha, Wisconsin, & South Whitley, Indiana, respectively. Upon graduating, Neal studied biology & chemistry at Indiana University before switching his major to theater after being cast in college productions of Nash's "The Rainmaker" & the musical "Damn Yankees!" While at college, Neal met his future wife in a summer French class. Later that year, Neal enlisted in the US Navy and served as a hospital corpsman/medic to the 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Battalion at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he finished out his military career. Before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of making a splash in the Hollywood scene, Neal worked as a bartender on the golf & beach resort island of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
