Born and raised in Winter Park, Florida, her father an attorney and her mother an interior designer. She has an older brother who practices law with her father. Maher moved to New York City to attend Marymount Manhattan College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She pursued acting after college and landed small parts on soap operas, off-off Broadway and commercials as well as acting in her own short films she wrote, directed and produced. Maher then turned her focus to fashion and landed an internship at Calvin Klein while attending Parsons School of Design. She was offered a position at Calvin as an assistant designer then moved to the business side as an account executive. Still passionate about storytelling, Maher continued writing scripts. After honing her filmmaking skills on shorts and a Certificate of Film at NYU, Maher embarked on Garmento, a narrative feature film about her exploits in the rag trade which premiered at South by Southwest, screenings at the Hollywood Film Festival, Facets for IFP in Chicago, including theatrical releases in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Houston. Presently, Maher resides in Los Angeles where she's formed production company, Palm Ridge Pictures, producing projects and continues to create original work for film & television.
