The photo-novel was a popular reading material not only in Italy, but in most Spanish speaking countries, as well as Portugal and Brazil. Max Delys, along with many other actors of the 1960s, 70s and 80s, became internationally famous due to this cultural phenomena. In 1971, Delys appeared in the Coca Cola TV commercial "It's the Real Thing" seen in the last episode of Mad Men.
