Matthew Avant
Matthew Avant was born on Sep 04, 1979 in USA. Matthew Avant's big-screen debut came with Lunopolis directed by Matthew Avant in 2010.
Matthew Avant is a writer, director and producer who began his career in 1998 as a studio engineer, recording and mixing albums for south Louisiana musical artists ranging in genre from country to rap. Through this experience he moved into production for television and commercial projects, including early production work on Nashville-based "Songwriters in the Round", later titled "Legends and Lyrics" which aired on PBS.In 2001 Avant was hired by a local ABC affiliate to produce television commercials, winning numerous local and regional awards including Telly, Addy, and Davey awards for creative writing and cinematography. In 2004 at the age of 23 he was recruited to build and manage a creative team for a competing CBS affiliate where he spent several years writing and producing hundreds of ad campaigns, as well as passion projects on the side including two short films and a documentary. Throughout this time he also provided voice-over talent to a multitude of local and regional media projects, and served as a producer and co-host of a weekly radio program titled "Liquid Lounge" for new and upcoming trip-hop artists. After completing the script for his first feature project "Lunopolis", Avant self-financed this mock-documentary film that connected many well established conspiracy theories about the moon, time travel and UFO's. The movie was well received at festivals and underground film review sites across the internet and is now hailed as a cult-classic, often attributed as the first narrative story to address the phenomena now known as "The Mandela Effect". Through direct-to-disc distributor Virgil Films, it released officially in 2011 on DVD and was available on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime until 2017, and today remains available YouTube, Tubi and various other streaming services. In early 2011 Avant was honored at Glen Rose Film Festival for best science fiction screenplay by coordinator Benjamin Wilbanks, who offered him a position with the production team in development of speculative TV series "Ghostbreakers" as a senior editor, sound designer and story consultant. The series, featuring the lead performance of host Joey Greco (Cheaters), was produced as a 19 episode pilot season, and though the program was never picked up for broadcast, it was later distributed on Amazon Prime.During a brief return to the small ABC affiliate in Louisiana in 2014, Avant wrote and produced a promotional campaign which earned him a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Suncoast Chapter) Emmy Award. Soon he was offered a chance to return to Nashville, TN as Senior Producer of Original Programming for Omaha-based Rural Media Group, with distribution platform RFD-TV and "The Cowboy Channel" on cable providers nationwide. Avant has written, directed and produced a variety of television programs for the network, including the award-winning series "Dude Ranch Roundup" hosted by Debbe Dunning ("Heidi" of ABC's "Home Improvement"), and special documentary series "The Rural Americans".Today Avant continues to produce new and upcoming programs for the network, as well as a multitude of personal projects through his production company "Media Savant LLC", and new production partnership "Brave New Agents".
