Matt Bjorklund

Matt Bjorklund

producer, writer, director

Matt Bjorklund was born on Apr 10, 1985 in USA. Matt Bjorklund's big-screen debut came with Stealing Summer directed by Adam Zuehlke in 2004.

Matt launched his career in 2004 by writing and producing the independent film, "Stealing Summer." While this was the most successful film to date for Matt, it certainly wasn't his first, nor his last. He has been actively making his own films since the age of 11, when he first got permission to use his father's old video camera to shoot a 5 minute movie with some of his neighborhood friends. He spent several years developing his talent and learning the craft of screenwriting. He took classes, read books, and eventually enrolled in the Film and Television program at Brown College, where he graduated with a degree in 2005. While attending Brown he became friends with fellow filmmaker Adam Zuehlke, with whom he collaborated to make "Stealing Summer." The two of them decided to form Slate of Mind Productions as a vehicle for their films. Their idea was to create a production company that focused on making low-budget films set entirely in the Midwest and using the resources of the many undiscovered -- and very talented -- filmmakers, actors and actresses in the region.
