Actor. Born in Loma Linda, California. A descendant of the Holcomb family pioneers; gold miners and citrus growers in San Bernardino County, he graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California. At the behest of casting director Eddie Foy III, he was brought to Screen Gems and Columbia Pictures. Working as a mailboy on the Gower Street lot, Mark became a messenger to Hollywood luminaries like William Wyler, William Castle, Richard Brooks, Ross Hunter and many others. He was discovered on the lot by the iconic Producer Jack L. Warner. Warner and director Peter H. Hunt cast him in the film version of Broadway's '1776' It was the last movie to shoot on Columbia's historic back lot and Jack Warner's final film in Hollywood. Other movies include 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,' 'Hooper,' 'Jokes Your Folks Never Told You' and 'Missouri Breaks.' His roles in TV series include: 'The Young and the Restless', 'The Waltons,' 'Medical Center,' 'Shazam!' 'One Day at a Time,' and 'Cheers.' He was featured in the TV movies 'Sandburg's Lincoln,' Helter Skelter' and 'Friendly Fire.' He also appeared as Schroeder in the 1973 Hallmark Hall of Fame version of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," for NBC. Under contract to Universal, he appeared as Darryl in the 1979 television series, 'The Curse of Dracula.' His work in historical recreations and production work led to numerous shows as a producer, writer and director.
