Marian began her career as a stage actress in the 1950's in the Toronto area initially as a choir girl before branching out by acting in stage plays. Outside of her work in live theatre, Waldman also acted in a few films as well as was a writer for several TV shows; she was especially memorable as the drunken foul-mouthed housemother Mrs. Mac in the seasonal slasher classic
