Marialejandra began working in film at a very young age, starring in the Venezuelan feature film "Ifigenia" (Dir. Iván Feo, 1986) which led her to establish herself as a full-time actor for film, theater, and television. In 1994 she founded La Caja Teatro to produce her first theater project in co-production with Peruvian actor-director Alberto Isola, with seasons in Caracas and Lima. In 1998, she moved to New York to study at The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute with teachers George Loros, Robert Castle, Pennie DuPont, Geoffrey Horne, Michael Margotta, etc. In 2001 she returns to Venezuela, begins producing and directing plays, workshops, experimental projects, and is an associated producer in independent projects, like the feature film "Sólo Para Tus Ojos" by Carlos Porte. Already established as a professional actor, she began to train in different areas of cinema with professionals from the Venezuelan film industry, such as Thaelman Urguelles, Carmen La Roche, Luisa de la Ville, and Laura Goldberg. In 2018 she entered the National Film School of Venezuela (ENC) and studied Film Direction with Rafael Marziano, Luis Alberto Lamata, Pablo de la Barra, among other Venezuelan filmmakers. In 2019 she writes, produces, and directs her first short film "Go Back Forward" ("Qué Hago Yo Aquí", 2019) selected in more than 20 international film festivals, in the US, India, UK, Romania, France, Australia, Nepal, Italy, Colombia, and Venezuela, and also to represent Venezuela in the showcase of the Spanish-American Federation of Film Academies FIACINE "Women in Short". She currently lives between Venezuela and the US working on the post-production of her second short film "Ritorno", and on two feature film projects: a documentary about the Venezuelan professor and feminist Adícea Castillo, and "The Charms of Guilt", her first fiction feature film project.RNC # 6147 - CNAC Venezuela
