Maré Shepherd is a child of the Fifties. Her parent, immigrants from Eastern Europe, chose to make Canada their home and refuge shortly after WWII. Maré grew up on the periphery of Toronto where she attended school and participated in Theatre Arts and drama. Maré's upbringing as a first generation Canadian has instilled in her a strong sense of loyalty, survival of tradition, gratitude and a commitment to community. Maré continues to be involved in the Greek Orthodox faith which greatly influences her continued pursuit of the "metaphysical". Her cultural roots extended her many performing opportunities at an early age, beginning with church and youth choirs, a local dance troop and finally participating in drama festivals which toured, entertained and competed across the country. Maré pursued Business Administration and Marketing Degrees from Ryerson Polytechnical. Professionally she secured her Securities, Certified Financial Planning and Insurance Licenses. Working in the Financial Industry not only brought an array of experiences both in Corporate Sales and in the Political Arenas, but, also provided her with the ability to travel extensively in her life. Recently, Maré has taken a leap of faith and jumped into the void to follow her long-deprived passion into the world of "acting". She is committed to the craft and continues to study diligently and enjoys the evolvement of her freshly rediscovered creativity as each new process unfolds. Maré brings to the table a "buffet of life experience", both personally and professionally.
