Marcus Miller was born on June 14, 1959 in New York. He is a Grammy winning musician, composer, arranger and producer. With more than 200 film and television credits as a musician and composer, he recently appeared in the Emmy winning documentary American Masters: Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool (2019). Marcus scored the Oscar nominated film Marshall: La vérité sur l'affaire Spell (2017). Other work includes About Last Night (2014) Think Like a Man (2012) and Reed Between the Lines (2011).Marcus has also appeared in several television programs such as The 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors (2013), and documentaries including The Miles Davis Documentary (2021) and the upcoming Wayne Shorter: Zero Gravity.He hosts a weekly radio program on Real Jazz Sirius XM Radio every Sunday evening.Marcus is a UNESCO Artist for Peace and serves as a spokesperson for the UNESCO Slave Route Project. He also serves on the Board of Directors of ASCAP.
