Maj Ödman born 1915 in Sollefteå, was a Swedish teacher, journalist, writer, translator, radio and television producer. She produced radio and TV programs for more than 40 years on social and medical themes. She also wrote several books, among others "Föräldraboken/ The Book of Parents" with radio colleague Lis Asklund. Among Maj Ödman's major production is a well-known TV series in 1957 about a neurosedyn-injured boy, Peter Sundström, and a radio series in 1958-1959 about the twins Bengt and Rolf Eriksson and their schooling at the Tomteboda blind institute. May Ödman received two honorary doctorates, at Karolinska Institutet (1985) and the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. She was also awarded the Vasa Order.
