Maestro Yek was born on Apr 12, 1977 in Puerto Rico. Maestro Yek's big-screen debut came with Talento de barrio directed by José Iván Santiago in 2008, strarring Jayco (as Maestro).
Angel Rodriguez, born in 1977 in the island of Puerto Rico, professionally known as "Maestro Yek" is known for being an award-winning producer, a legendary bilingual Spanish/English rapper and a talented actor known for movies such as his antagonist acting appearance role to protagonist famous reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee's hit movie "Talento de Barrio" where Maestro starred as the infamous "Jeico". Maestro is one of the pioneer rappers of the Hip-Hop Spanish movement in Latin America. One of Maestro's most memorable productions till this day is Tego Calderon's "El Abayarde" where Maestro produced most of the album originally released in 2002 through White Lion Records selling over 1 million copies its first week. Maestro has collaborated and featured with many known rappers from Puerto Rico and the United States such as KRS-1, Calle 13, Julio Voltio, Mexicano 777, MC Ceja and more. Apart from acting, producing and featuring in many top of the line albums as a rapper, Maestro has released 2 self-albums: "Maestro: The Movie" in April 9th, 2002 by the label of Boricua Guerrero, and "Maestro: Special Request" in November 4th, 2003 by the label of Sony U.S. Latin. In 2010 Maestro and Mistel Fu created company empire "Yek Family" where comeback song "Apunta y Dispara" made 3 million views in YouTube. In 2011 year after song "Apunta y Dispara" was released, a remix was made with elite selection of rappers: Mistel Fu, Mexicano 777, Voltio, Mc Ceja, Polaco, Omar Garcia, Chino Nino, Guelo Star and Gastam. In 2018, Maestro starred in Netflix biographical series "El Ganador" of popular urban music reggaeton artist Nicky Jam as his uncle "Mickey" based on Nicky Jam's life journey.
