Lya De Putti

Lya De Putti was born on Jan 10, 1897 in Slovakia]. Lya De Putti's big-screen debut came with Mysteries of India, Part I: Truth directed by Joe May in 1921. Lya De Putti is known for The Informer directed by Arthur Robison, Lya De Putti stars as Katie Fox and Lars Hanson as Gypo Nolan. The daughter of a Hungarian baron and countess, Lya De Putti went on to perform classical ballet in Berlin, Germany, after a brief stint in Hungarian vaudeville. She later made several films at the German UFA studios, most notably Variétés (1925), before going to Hollywood in 1926. While in America she starred in several movies, mostly in vamp roles.
