Lucy Boryer was born in Portland, Oregon. She is known as a series regular on the show Doogie Howser, M.D. She played "Janine Stewart" on the ABC Steven Bochco series for 4 seasons. Lucy began acting as a child in local theater in Portland and trained as a baton twirler in "Dance Twirl. She competed in both Oregon & Washington state baton competitions placing at Nationals in Seattle in 1980. She was also a 1st place Oregon State speech champion in high school. She graduated from the prestigious theater school CAL ARTS with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and landed on Doogie Howser, M.D. within 6 months of graduating. Lucy was hired as a day player for the 1st episode of Doogie with only 5 lines. She was asked back repeatedly and did a total of 10 episodes the 1st season and then became a series regular for the 2nd & 3rd seasons. Lucy screen tested for "replacement Becky" on the Roseanne show. She took some time away from show business to pursue other ventures and is now back working in Hollywood. Lucy belongs to the Valley West Actors Studio run by Sara Wood. (Evan Rachel Wood's Mom.) Lucy teaches kids, teen and adult acting classes as well as continues her own studies with Sara and actor Jed Rees.
