Lester Powell

Lester Powell was born on Jun 14, 1912 in UK. Lester Powell's big-screen debut came with Scotland Yard Inspector directed by Sam Newfield in 1952.

Lester Powell was successively employed in a curtain shop, on a poultry farm, and in a designer's office, before he became a journalist. During the Second World War, he served in the Royal Army Medical Corps and went to France in the first months of the conflict. He was wounded at the Battle of Dunkirk in May 1940 and returned to England, where he worked as a reporter for various newspapers, including the Daily Express and the News Chronicle. During this period, he also worked for the European and overseas services of the BBC.
