He spent years as a youth developing his craft on the stages of the park districts of Chicago. These years saw Lamar portray characters such as Danny Zuko in Grease, George Murchison in A Raisin In The Sun, and Papa Ge in the musical Once On This Island. Lamar isn't as new to the scene though; he can be seen in a few regional and national commercials for companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, McDonalds and Cricket Wireless. Lamar studied acting at legendary institutions such as Second City of Chicago as well as moving to Los Angeles and studying at the Sanford Meisner Center of Acting. Lamar credits his wife Melissa for her undying support, which has made his efforts and successes in his career possible. He now continues his training and career forward in Chicago, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
