Krupasagar Sridharan is a Film & Television Professional in the Indian Film and Television Industries, with Creative, Production and Management experience in Stage, Film, Music, Events and Broadcast Entertainment.Born in Chennai, and growing up all over India, Sagar has a multi-cultural upbringing,combined with two strong and opposing cinematic influences from his two grandfathers:one was a celebrated Tamil and Sinhala Screenwriter and Director, and the other worked his entire career in film distribution, with Twentieth Century Fox. So it was fitting, in a sense, to work first with Mani Ratnam, today's most celebrated Tamil filmmaker, and then with Mira Nair, handing post-production for a New York based production, coordinating post-production processes between Mumbai, New Delhi, Lahore, London, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.Sagar began his career armed with a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Global Sales and Marketing Management.Trained in Directing for the Stage by the Royal Court Theatre, London, and for Film & TV by the New York Film Academy, Sagar began his Television career writing directing and producing several seasons of Non-Fiction Music Television Format Shows and Reality TV, ranging from Top 40 Countdown shows, to a 13 episode Pyramidical-Elimination Reality Talent Hunt in Modelling - [v] Get Gorgeous 2 - during his time as Producer at first SS Music, Chennai and Channel [v] (STAR India Pvt. Ltd.), in Mumbai.A move to Endemol India saw Sagar as Daily (Episode) Producer on Season #1 and Season #2 of Bigg Boss - Celebrity Big Brother (India), and as creator and Executive Producer of the Endemol India - United Nations joint project Mission Ustaad, bringing together the top Musical Talents of India, including A.R. Rahman as a judge, to support the UN's Millenium Development Goals Campaign on a 13-week series on a major General Entertainment Broadcaster. The show featured 26 sizzling episodes of musical performances, both covers and originals, from these powerhouse performers on one of India's first fully plasma-walled 360-degree sets, at Yashraj Studios.In 2008-2009, Sagar co-wrote Story, Screenplay & Dialogue for Ramaa - the Saviour (2010) a Children's Fantasy Adventure Feature Film starring Tanushree Dutta, Sahil Khan and featuring The Great Khali. The film was shot in the rain-forests of Thailand.In 2008-2009, Sagar co-wrote and co-directed Indique - Big Ideas from Emerging India, a 4-episode Documentary Series for Blood Orange Media, Minneapolis, for US Broadcast on PBS. The series, on Grassroots Innovation in India, premiered at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.At Sony Entertainment Television, in 2009, Sagar coordinated the efforts of crews from 16 countries deep in the world's oldest rain-forest in Taman Negara, Malaysia as Senior Executive Producer / Creative Supervisor of the ITV-Sony joint effort, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao (I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - India), produced by Miditech (India) and Silverback (Sweden).As Line Producer with Madras Talkies, Chennai based Film Production company centered around Mani Ratnam, one of India most celebrated and internationally lauded film directors, Sagar worked on the post-production, marketing and release of the recent trilingual feature film project, Raavan (2010) (Hindi) / Raavanan (2010) (Tamil) and the pre-production setup of Madras Talkies' next Hindi feature film, then set to begin photography in the UK in mid-2011, now on hold.With Sol Production, on Just Dance, a Dance Reality Show starring Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant, on STAR Plus, Sagar was first Associate Director on the Premiere Episode, and then Associate Creative Director / Head (Reality) on the main series.In 2012, Sagar was Post-Production Supervisor on Mira Nair's just-completed feature film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, starring Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Liev Schreiber and Kiefer Sutherland. The film has now completed Audio Post Production and VFX in Mumbai, and DI in New York and premiered as the opening film of the 69th Venice International Film Festival and released theatrically across the world in May 2013.While he continues to freelance as a director and writer, most recently as the Series Writer on the series Emergency Room, on the National Geographic Channel, and as Writer and Creative Director on "Spirit of India - The Festivals", on Zing (English) and Zee (Hindi), Sagar's primary responsibility is as Co-Founder and CEO of WaveLens Studios, a startup operating in the Film, TV & Music Content Production, Post-Production, VFX and Technology R&D space.WaveLens Studios has recently completed production of "Stupid Cupid" a Made-for-TV feature film for MTV Films, creative produced by Shoojit Sircar and Rising Sun Films, and Written and Directed by WaveLens Studios' Creative Director, Reshu Nath, with Sagar as Co-Writer and Executive Producer.
