Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Kristen Caldwell has one younger sister, Nicole, who is the managing editor of Playgirl Magazine. Kristin is the daughter of Laura and the late Daniel Caldwell. She is a two-time national soccer champion (once in 1996 with Ramapo High School and once in 2001 with the NJ PDA Galaxy U-23 team), played collegiate-level soccer with The College of New Jersey and went to the Final Four with them.
